29 August
We had a bit of a sleep in this morning seeing as we had decided to stay here for a few days, so we had a late start on our 24km drive out to Dimond Gorge. We had been provided with an instructional map with information about highlights at numbered stops along the way, which we stopped at to observe. We had paid for the use of the canoes at Dimond Gorge so we paddled out the 2kms along the gorge, stopping off at a shady spot along the way for our picnic lunch.
We continued on to the head of the gorge which ended at a huge pile of black rock – the result of a volcanic intrusion, which certain nameless people had to clamber up and explore.

We have been taking turns in producing the evening meal but every now and again we decide to have a night off and treat ourselves. We decided to do this tonight as they had salt water Barramundi on the menu - delicious

Jealous! I Love Barramundi!
